We are pleased to announce a “changing of the guard”, with the appointment of Andrew Dyda as our new, and youngest ever, Managing Partner. Andrew will take over from David Martin who will be stepping down from the position and transitioning into a consultancy role with Finlaysons, after 7 years as Managing Partner.
Andrew joined the firm in 2005 and has been a key member of the Finlaysons partnership and leadership team since 2012, when he was appointed to Partner. This appointment marks a significant occasion personally for Andrew, achieving the top job before turning 40 – a true testament to Andrew’s professional skills within such a competitive industry.
Speaking on the announcement of Andrew’s appointment, David Martin said:
“Andrew is a strong leader and an exceptional lawyer. He is an impressive talent and his list of accolades at a young age speak volumes to his dedication to his work.”
“He is an individual who sets his bar high and brings a lot to the table; he makes others around him better for sharing his knowledge and experience. He has been contributing to the success and the progression of the firm for some time now and I am personally delighted to be handing over the reins to him.”
Commenting on his appointment, Andrew said he was excited to be taking on the role.
“Finlaysons has such a strong track record not only in SA but throughout Australia and I look forward to further contributing to that,” he said.
“I’m excited to continue to progress the work David has undertaken, he has been and continues to be a great leader to the Finlaysons’ team.”
Andrew is the head of the Finlaysons’ Resources Team, and an integral member of the firm’s Corporate and Energy Teams. He has been involved in a range of complex transactional and advisory work for ASX listed, private and government entities throughout Australia and internationally.
It is an exciting time for Finlaysons. In the month of June, we have relocated our Adelaide headquarters, welcomed staff and clients to the new location following the easing of COVID-19 restrictions and have announced new leadership.
We thank David for his tremendous work and dedication to the role over the past seven years and we are excited to welcome Andrew to the role.
We look forward to seeing what the rest of 2020 has to bring.
