Finlaysons is widely recognised and respected for their active Women in Business program, paving new ground when it was launched in Adelaide in 1997, to provide an inspiring forum to discuss ideas and opportunities to a diverse audience and to champion women and equality in the workforce. Women in Business is paving new ground again with the announcement of the first ever Ambassador, dual Olympic cyclist, Annette (Nettie) Edmondson.
The Ambassadorship will assist in supporting Annette’s career pursuits during 2018 in events such as the Santos Women’s Tour Down Under (11th – 14th of January) and in her bid for gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games (to be held on the Gold Coast between the 4th and the 15th of April).
Finlaysons’ Managing Partner, David Martin, said “The appointment of Annette as our first ever Women in Business Ambassador is an exciting development in our commitment to continuing to setting a leadership example, in the legal profession, for the retention and promotion of women. Given that a very significant number of our key people are, of course, women, gender equality is an integral part of our organisation’s culture and ongoing business model as it is universally understood that those organisations who embrace diversity tend to deliver better outcomes for their people and their clients.”
Finlaysons supports gender equality in the workplace in many ways and Managing Partner, David Martin, is a member of the Chiefs for Gender Equity, a group of senior business leaders from prominent South Australian companies representing key industry sectors brought together with the common aim of advancing gender equity.
Finlaysons wish to congratulate Nettie on her Stage 1 win in the 2018 Women’s Tour Down Under and wish her and her team WiggleHigh5, the very best of luck for the remaining Tour.
