Angela Burford is a Special Counsel in Finlaysons’ Wills, Estates & Succession Planning team, with more than 15 years of specialist experience in estate and succession law.
Prior to her appointment at the Probate Registry, Angela spent 10 years in private practice, advising individuals, families and business owners on all aspects of succession planning, including wills, enduring powers of attorney, advance care directives, and asset protection strategies.

Angela has extensive experience across all facets of wills, estates, and succession law.
Her recent role as a Senior Deputy Registrar of Probate at the Supreme Court of South Australia saw her manage and determine a wide range of complex grant applications, including informal wills, lost wills, and applications involving incapacitated executors. This has given her a rare depth of understanding of the Court’s testamentary causes jurisdiction.
In private practice, Angela has advised clients on everything from straightforward estate planning to complex family arrangements involving testamentary trusts, Special Disability Trusts, and protective structures. She regularly acts for executors, administrators, and beneficiaries in estate administration matters, and is experienced in preparing Probate and Letters of Administration applications, as well as Deeds of Family Arrangement.
