Lan is the head of our Intellectual Property & Information Technology practice and a member of our Corporate team. She has experience working on client secondments and with in-house counsel across various industries, including Defence, Wine and Education. This means the advice given comes with a deep understanding on successful business implementation and can assure clients they will be provided with commercially-relevant and accessible solutions.
Lan works in corporate advisory, mergers and acquisitions and intellectual property (IP). She has acted for major corporates in asset and share sales (including related due diligence), reconstructions, commercial contracting and managed investment schemes.
Lan’s work on privacy issues has included advising ASX listed companies, public companies and tertiary education providers on diverse issues such as the preparation of privacy policies in compliance with the Australian Privacy Principles, the reporting of eligible data breaches to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner and affected individuals and the obligations of data controllers and data processors under the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation.Send a Message
Clients come to Lan because of her honest, plain speaking, practical approach and healthy respect for her clients. Her personable approach gives clients a true sense of security and trust. She is not only dedicated to her clients, but to the industry as a whole, which is shown by her regular involvement in education seminars and her role on the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA) Regional Council (SA/NT). Lan’s role on the council is to promote the acitivities of FINSIA within our region, through education and networking events, and act as the liaison point for FINSIA members.
Her expertise is well distinguished and the acknowledgement she has received is a testament to that. Lan was recognised in Doyles 2019 as a Leading SA Commercial Lawyer, she was also recognised in 2018 as a Recommended SA Commercial Lawyer and in 2017 as a Recommended SA Technology, Media and Telecommunications Lawyer.
