Finlaysons join 2018 Adelaide Film Festival’s Pay It Forward Program

2 minutes read time

In the tradition of suspended coffees and random acts of kindness, Adelaide Film Festival’s Pay It Forward program enables deserving organisations and individuals to experience a much-needed night at the movies.

Launched in 2015, Pay It Forward has been an outstanding success, providing hard-working volunteers and individuals, who may not otherwise have had the opportunity, to access the world class movies at ADL Film Fest.

How does it work?

A pool of supporting organisations contributes to the Pay It Forward ‘kitty’, which then purchases tickets to ADL Film Fest screenings for 10 local charities. 100% of the corporate contribution goes directly to purchasing tickets for this act of kindness.  There are no administrative fees associated with this giving and the tickets are purchased at a discounted rate.

Pay It Forward augments accessibility and goodwill between ADL Film Fest and community members who may not otherwise get the opportunity to engage with the arts and attend the Festival. It provides supporting organisations with a unique and creative way to support their community and thank their volunteers.

The 2018 Charity Partners are:

Australian Refugee Association
Cancer Council SA
Carer Support
FoodbankSA
St John’s Youth Services
Meals on Wheels
Welcome to Australia
Carers SA
The Big Issue
The Paraplegic and Quadriplegic Association of South Australia

Members of the public can also get involved by adding an extra ticket when purchasing their own.  Click here for further information.
